Jindal Saw Limited (NSE: JINDALSAW) gains 5% intraday, nears resistance
Jindal Saw Limited (NSE: JINDALSAW) stock moves up 5% intraday to ₹268.85, approaching resistance at ₹275 in the Basic Materials » Steel sector.
Jindal Saw Limited (JINDALSAW) gained +5% to test resistance at ₹275, just 2.4% away. The stock’s rise today can be attributed to its approach towards the resistance level, driven by the company’s ongoing strategic initiatives and positive market sentiment. Jindal Saw, a key player in the steel sector, specializes in manufacturing and supplying steel pipes and forgings. Today’s move appears to be more company-specific, reflecting investor optimism around its growth plans rather than broad sector momentum.
Technical setup — trendlines & DMA
From a technical perspective, Jindal Saw’s 6-month support trendline stands at ₹222.57, which is 17.21% below the current price, indicating a solid base. The resistance trendline is at ₹275.34, just above the current price, suggesting the stock is nearing a critical level. The 50-DMA at ₹246.1 is above the 200-DMA at ₹199.2, signaling a bullish trend. The stock is currently in the upper third of its 52-week range, implying that a significant portion of the anticipated move might already be priced in.
Snapshot: ₹268.85 on 2026-07-16 (chart frozen at publication)
Fundamentals & business context
On the fundamental front, Jindal Saw’s PE of 25.0, coupled with a profit margin of 5.4% and a meager revenue CAGR of 0.4%, suggests that the market might be pricing in future growth expectations rather than current earnings. The company’s profit CAGR of 14.8% over five years indicates some potential for improvement, but the thin margins leave little room for error. Institutional ownership of 10.7% suggests a cautious but positive view from smart money. There was no specific NSE catalyst today, but the stock’s rise likely reflects ongoing investor confidence in its strategic plans.
Algorithmic scorecard
The overall algorithmic scorecard of 68 reflects a technically strong but fundamentally weaker profile. The strongest signals include the bullish trend, with the 50-DMA above the 200-DMA, and the bullish sentiment over the last 30 days, where the average volume on up days is 1.43 times higher than on down days, indicating systematic accumulation. On the weaker side, the low profit margin of 5.4% poses a risk if costs rise, and the negligible dividend yield of 0.74% offers little income for investors. These factors highlight the stock’s potential for growth but also its vulnerabilities.
Company outlook
Management outlined a robust capex plan, expecting to invest between INR 500 crores to INR 600 crores this year and INR 400 crores to INR 500 crores next year. Key initiatives include setting up a carbon seamless pipe plant in Abu Dhabi and establishing a joint venture in Saudi Arabia for LSAW and HSAW facilities. Additionally, capital expenditures in Indian facilities aim to enhance operational efficiencies and infrastructure. These plans indicate a strong forward-looking strategy, with a focus on expanding international presence and improving domestic operations.

Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) Deploys Electric Trucks for Green Mobility Initiatives
Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) deploys 10 electric trucks, marking a significant step in its green mobility initiatives and decarbonization efforts.
Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), India’s leading stainless steel manufacturer, has deployed 10 dedicated electric trucks for finished goods transportation for the first time, marking a significant step in its green mobility initiatives and broader decarbonization efforts. The electric trucks will operate on routes connecting the company’s Jajpur plant with Kharagpur and Kolkata, as part of its phased transition towards electric and alternative-fuel mobility solutions across logistics operations.
Commitment to Green Mobility
The deployment builds on the company’s ongoing adoption of alternative-fuel vehicles across key transportation corridors. Jindal Stainless currently operates 80 LNG trucks for finished goods transportation from its Jajpur and Hisar facilities to western India, alongside the beginning of deployment of CNG trucks to transport import cargo from Dhamra to Jajpur. The company has also deployed 60 CNG buses for employee transportation at its Hisar and Jajpur facilities.
Environmental Impact
Together, these green mobility initiatives are expected to facilitate the movement of approximately 8,000-10,000 tonnes of cargo per month using electric and alternative fuel vehicles. The company plans to progressively expand the deployment of these solutions across suitable logistics routes, taking into account the operational requirements of different transportation corridors. Based on a modelled monthly green dispatch volume of 8,000-9,000 tonnes and an equivalent truck travel distance of approximately 240,000 kms, the combined transportation mix of electric, CNG, and LNG vehicles is expected to reduce emissions by approximately 71 tonnes CO₂ per month. This represents a reduction of around 26% compared with diesel-based transportation under regular operating conditions.
The green mobility programme complements Jindal Stainless’ broader environmental initiatives, which include enhancing energy efficiency, increasing the use of renewable energy, and strengthening resource circularity across its operations.

In other words, neither side has a clear edge right now. Revenue grows at 7.9% CAGR and the PEG stands at 99.00. The growth does not match the price the market asks.
