HEG Advanced Materials Limited (HEGAM) has announced a significant collaboration with Indus Towers Limited to explore Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions for telecom infrastructure in India. This strategic partnership aims to leverage Replus Engitech Private Limited’s dedicated BESS production capacity of 1.5 GWh over a two-year period to meet the evolving energy requirements of telecom infrastructure. This initiative reflects HEG’s commitment to building a strong, made-in-India energy storage ecosystem for critical infrastructure.
Strengthening Domestic Manufacturing
By strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities and advancing next-generation battery technologies, Replus aims to contribute to a more resilient indigenous energy storage ecosystem while supporting the evolving requirements of India’s telecom sector. Riju Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, Managing Director, and CEO of HEG Advanced Materials Limited, emphasized the opportunity to build a robust energy storage ecosystem through this collaboration.
Innovation and Future-Ready Solutions
Hiren Pravin Shah, Managing Director & CEO of Replus Engitech Private Limited, highlighted the ambition to combine innovation, reliability, and Indian engineering to create future-ready energy storage solutions. This collaboration is set to expand Replus’s portfolio of telecom energy storage solutions, including higher-capacity battery systems and emerging technologies such as sodium-ion batteries.
As a result, Replus Engitech and Indus Towers are poised to make significant strides in advancing India’s clean energy transition through scalable and innovative energy storage solutions.
