Peer Comparison
Peer Comparison
See how any NSE stock stacks up against its industry — valuation, growth, momentum, and trend status in one table. Available on every stock analysis page and in the Android app.
Absolute numbers on one stock rarely tell the full story. A P/E of 28 might look expensive in isolation — but cheap next to every other name in the same industry. Peer comparison puts each stock in context so you can spot relative value, growth leaders, and laggards without opening ten tabs.
- Valuation check — is this stock cheaper or pricier than rivals?
- Growth ranking — who is growing revenue and profit faster?
- Momentum filter — 52-week change and trendline status side by side
- Quick shortlist — tap any peer row to open its full analysis page
| Metric | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Price | Latest traded price for quick reference |
| P/E | Price vs earnings — lower often means cheaper (context matters) |
| Profit Margin | How much of each rupee of revenue becomes profit |
| Revenue CAGR (5Y) | Compound annual revenue growth over five years |
| Profit CAGR (5Y) | Compound annual profit growth over five years |
| 52W Change | Price move over the last year — green/red colour coded |
| Stock Strength | TradeAlone composite strength score for the name |
| Trendline | Current 3M/6M trend status (BREAKOUT, CONSOLIDATING, etc.) |
| YoY / QoQ Profit | Year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter profit growth |
| YoY / QoQ Revenue | Year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter revenue growth |
Your focus stock is highlighted in the table. The header shows sector, industry, and how many peers are listed.
On the website — scroll to Peer Comparison on any stock page, e.g. INFY. Each row links to that company's analysis page.
In the app — open Scan or Trade shortcuts → Peer Comparison, search a symbol (3+ letters), review the table, tap a peer for full detail.
Tip: Sort mentally on one column at a time — e.g. find the highest 5Y profit CAGR, then check whether P/E still looks reasonable.
When to use peer comparison
- Before buying — is the stock expensive vs rivals?
- After earnings — did it grow faster or slower than peers?
- Screening — find the strongest name in a sector by CAGR or trend status
- Research — jump between related companies without re-searching
FAQ
Companies are grouped by industry — the same classification shown on each stock page (sector and industry in the table header). When you open INFY, you see other IT services names; when you open a bank, you see other banks. This keeps comparisons apples-to-apples.
Peer comparison is industry-focused by design. Comparing a pharma stock to a bank rarely makes sense — the tool is built for relative analysis within the same business.
Fundamental metrics refresh daily after market close. Prices and trendline labels update on the same schedule as the rest of TradeAlone.
