Bharat Wire Ropes Limited Bharatwire Q1 FY27 Earnings

Bharat Wire Ropes Limited (BHARATWIRE) has reported its Q1 FY27 earnings, revealing a revenue decline of 8% year-on-year and a drop in EBITDA margin by 168 basis points. The company, one of India’s leading manufacturers of specialty steel wire ropes, strands, slings, and wires, has been impacted by the ongoing Middle East war escalation, which has disrupted the supply chain.

Financial Performance

The company’s revenue from operations stood at INR 1,304 million for Q1 FY27, compared to INR 1,417 million in the same quarter last year. The EBITDA was INR 255 million, a 15.3% decrease from INR 301 million in Q1 FY26. The EBITDA margin was 19.56%, down from 21.24% a year ago. The PAT (Profit After Tax) was INR 122 million, a significant drop of 21.8% from INR 156 million in Q1 FY26. The PAT margin also fell to 9.36% from 11.01% in the previous year.

Operational Challenges

The operational cost has shown an increasing trend due to lower volume and rising power and fuel costs. The company has focused on the domestic market and value-added products to maintain profitability amidst these challenges.

As a result, the diluted EPS for Q1 FY27 was INR 1.38, down from INR 1.80 in Q1 FY26, marking a 23.3% decrease. The company’s efforts to navigate through these operational hurdles will be closely watched as they continue to impact the overall financial health of the business.

Bharat falls 18.1% over three months and has not found a floor yet. The PEG stands at 4.88 — severely stretched. Any earnings miss could trigger a sharp de-rating. No meaningful dividend — total return is entirely dependent on capital appreciation. The stock sits at 24% of its 52-week range, close to annual lows. Historically, value investors build positions at these levels — though cheap stocks can stay cheap. Revenue grows at 2.4% CAGR and the PEG stands at 4.88. The growth does not match the price the market asks. Furthermore, flat price action adds no technical catalyst. A lower price or faster revenue growth would improve the odds. Venus Pipes & Tubes Limited (VENUSPIPES) has initiated pipe spooling operations ahead of schedule, marking a significant milestone in its expansion strategy. The early commencement of these operations in Dhaneti, Gujarat, is set to bolster the company’s value-added piping solutions portfolio. By starting production ahead of the originally planned timeline of December 2026, the company aims to establish manufacturing readiness in advance of anticipated customer orders, enabling faster execution and dispatch once orders are received.

Strategic Milestone

The proactive step to commence pipe spooling operations ahead of schedule underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its participation in the growing data centre infrastructure segment. Arun Kothari, Managing Director of Venus Pipes & Tubes Limited, highlighted that this initiative will help reduce lead times and facilitate quicker responses to customer requirements. The company has already received a Letter of Intent (LOI) worth Rs. 185 crore from a data centre customer for pipe spooling solutions, with the conversion into firm orders expected to begin in the coming days.

Future Plans

The early operationalization of the dedicated pipe spooling manufacturing capacity is planned to be completed in a phased manner over the next few months. This strategic move is anticipated to strengthen the company’s ability to meet customer demands efficiently and expand its market presence in the data centre infrastructure sector. Venus posts a 11.7% three-month gain, but softens in the last few weeks. Thin margins at 8.6% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. Revenue grows at 26.8% and profits at 32.1% CAGR. Both numbers are exceptional. The stock gives back 1.5% in the last month despite a positive three-month run. As a result, the earlier momentum appears to be fading. Both the business and the stock move in the right direction. Revenue grows at 26.8%, profits at 32.1%, and the PEG sits at 1.18 — below its growth rate. That combination is rare. Check Fundamentals of Venus Pipes & Tubes Limited.

Rossari falls 14.4% over three months and has not found a floor yet. Thin margins at 5.9% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. Not a single revenue dip or loss quarter in five years — this is a business built to last through cycles. The stock gains 3.9% in the last month, recovering from the three-month slide. However, it is too early to call this a confirmed reversal. Revenue grows at 13.1% and profits at 11.6% CAGR, with D/E of 0.18. Meanwhile, the stock dips 14.4% in three months without any fundamental deterioration. Consequently, the stock quietly becomes cheaper relative to earnings power.
