Jindal Stainless Limited JSL July 2026 Hydrogen Train

Jindal Stainless Limited, India’s leading stainless steel manufacturer, has supplied about 40% of the total stainless steel requirement for India’s first hydrogen-powered train. The premium austenitic stainless steel grade X5CrNi1810, exclusively supplied by Jindal Stainless’ Jajpur and Hisar plants, has been used in the fabrication of the hydrogen train. Equipped with a hydrogen propulsion system, the train represents a significant step in Indian Railways’ efforts towards adopting green mobility solutions.

Advances in Sustainable Mobility

Stainless steel has emerged as the preferred material for modern railway coaches owing to its unique combination of corrosion resistance, crash-worthiness, high strength-to-weight ratio, fire and impact resistance, durability, and recyclability. Its lightweight properties also contribute to improved energy efficiency, making it particularly well-suited for emerging mobility solutions such as hydrogen-powered trains.

Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability

Commenting on the development, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, Mr Abhyuday Jindal said, “The future of mobility will be defined not only by cleaner sources of energy but also by advanced materials that make these technologies more efficient, durable and sustainable. We are proud to contribute to India’s first hydrogen-powered train, an important milestone in the country’s clean mobility journey and its vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Stainless steel has consistently demonstrated its value in railway applications through its strength, corrosion resistance, safety and lifecycle performance.”

As India accelerates the development of next-generation transport infrastructure, Jindal Stainless remains committed to delivering material solutions that enable innovation, sustainability and long-term value.

Jindal moves sideways over three months, with neither buyers nor sellers taking control. Thin margins at 7.4% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. Not a single revenue dip or loss quarter in five years — this is a business built to last through cycles. The stock gains 3.9% in the last month, recovering from the three-month slide. However, it is too early to call this a confirmed reversal. Revenue grows at 6.5% and profits at 14.7% CAGR, with D/E of 0.38. Meanwhile, the stock dips 6.4% in three months without any fundamental deterioration. Consequently, the stock quietly becomes cheaper relative to earnings power. For long-term investors, that is a feature. Check Fundamentals of Jindal Stainless Limited.

Venus Pipes & Tubes Limited (VENUSPIPES) has initiated pipe spooling operations ahead of schedule, marking a significant milestone in its expansion strategy. The early commencement of these operations in Dhaneti, Gujarat, is set to bolster the company’s value-added piping solutions portfolio. By starting production ahead of the originally planned timeline of December 2026, the company aims to establish manufacturing readiness in advance of anticipated customer orders, enabling faster execution and dispatch once orders are received.

Strategic Milestone

The proactive step to commence pipe spooling operations ahead of schedule underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its participation in the growing data centre infrastructure segment. Arun Kothari, Managing Director of Venus Pipes & Tubes Limited, highlighted that this initiative will help reduce lead times and facilitate quicker responses to customer requirements. The company has already received a Letter of Intent (LOI) worth Rs. 185 crore from a data centre customer for pipe spooling solutions, with the conversion into firm orders expected to begin in the coming days.

Future Plans

The early operationalization of the dedicated pipe spooling manufacturing capacity is planned to be completed in a phased manner over the next few months. This strategic move is anticipated to strengthen the company’s ability to meet customer demands efficiently and expand its market presence in the data centre infrastructure sector.
