Indian Energy Exchange Limited (IEX) Reports Strong Half-year and Q2 FY’27 Results
Indian Energy Exchange Limited (IEX) announces its H1FY’27 results with a 14.2% YoY growth in electricity volume and a 12.3% increase in consolidated PAT.
Indian Energy Exchange Limited (IEX) has announced its unaudited financial results for the half year and second quarter ended September 30, 2026, revealing significant growth in both electricity volumes and profit after tax (PAT). The company reported a 14.2% year-on-year (YoY) increase in electricity volumes for H1FY’27, reaching 77.2 billion units (BUs). Moreover, consolidated PAT for H1FY’27 stood at Rs. 274.0 crore, marking a 12.3% YoY increase.
Electricity Volume Growth
The surge in electricity volumes can be attributed to sustained demand growth in the power sector, driven by strong industrial activity and higher irrigation demand. This growth is further supported by the weak monsoon, which has intensified the need for power supply. For Q2FY’27, electricity volumes reached 39.7 BUs, reflecting a 12.7% YoY increase.
Profit After Tax (PAT) Increase
In terms of financial performance, IEX’s consolidated PAT for H1FY’27 increased by 12.3% to Rs. 274.0 crore. For Q2FY’27, consolidated PAT rose by 12.9% to Rs. 139.2 crore. These figures highlight the company’s robust financial health and operational efficiency.
Market Dynamics
The power sector has seen a notable increase in demand, with a 10.2% YoY growth in power demand to 897 BUs in H1 FY’27. This trend continued into Q2 FY’27, where elevated temperatures and deficient monsoon rainfall contributed to a record growth of 11.5% YoY, reaching 502 BUs. The average market clearing price in the Day-Ahead Market increased by 46% to Rs 5.7/unit, and in the Real-Time Market, it rose by 49% to Rs 5.2/unit.
As a forward-looking statement, IEX remains committed to enhancing its market presence and operational efficiency, poised to capitalize on the growing demand in the power sector.

IIFL holds in the upper half of its 52-week range, a sign the market backs the stock. The PEG of 0.65 signals undervaluation relative to growth. It is a potential re-rating candidate. Premium net margins of 24.5% demonstrate strong cost discipline and a wide competitive moat. The stock holds at 63% of its 52-week range with RSI at 59. In other words, neither side has a clear edge right now. Both the business and the stock move in the right direction. Emkay rises 10.6% over three months, with buying pressure holding steady. The PEG stands at 15.46 — severely stretched. Any earnings miss could trigger a sharp de-rating. Razor-thin margins below 5% make profitability extremely vulnerable — this business needs scale or pricing power urgently. The stock holds at 49% of its 52-week range with RSI at 55. In other words, neither side has a clear edge right now. Revenue grows at 21.4% and the stock moves sideways over three months. Neither side makes a strong case.
