Wockhardt Limited Receives U.S. FDA Approval for Zaynich™, a Novel Intravenous Antibiotic
Wockhardt Limited (WOCKPHARMA) receives U.S. FDA approval for ZAYNICH™, a novel antibiotic for treating complicated urinary tract infections.
Wockhardt Limited (WOCKPHARMA) announced on May 30, 2026, that it has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for ZAYNICH™ (cefepime and zidebactam), a novel intravenous antibiotic for treating adults with complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI), including pyelonephritis. This approval marks a significant milestone for Wockhardt, as ZAYNICH™ is the first New Chemical Entity fully developed and commercialized by an Indian pharmaceutical company to receive FDA approval.
Clinical Trial Results
The FDA approval was based on the results from ENHANCE-1, a Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, multicenter study. ZAYNICH™ demonstrated higher combined clinical cure and microbiologic response (composite endpoint) at the test of cure (TOC) visit versus meropenem, 89.0% vs 68.4% respectively. The antibiotic was generally well tolerated in the study, which enrolled 530 patients from the U.S., Europe, LATAM, China, and India, and spanned across 64 sites.
Significance of the Approval
The approval addresses a critical unmet need for new antibiotics to combat multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria. Multidrug-resistant bacterial infections are a substantial burden for patients and the healthcare system, as they typically require longer, more intensive care and are at increased risk of life-threatening complications. The approval of ZAYNICH™ provides a new option for treating these infections, offering hope to patients and healthcare providers.

Fundamental & Technical Analysis of Wockhardt Limited
Wockhardt Limited belongs to the Healthcare › Drug Manufacturers – Specialty & Generic sector. Here’s a quick read on where the business and the stock stand today.
Wockhardt gains 49.2% over three months and trades near its 52-week highs. Thin margins at 6.3% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. No meaningful dividend — total return is entirely dependent on capital appreciation. RSI hits 82, a level that signals the stock runs hot. Notably, buyers drove volume on 17 recent sessions — though at these levels, some profit-taking is normal. The stock rises 49.2% in three months. Yet revenue grows at only 8.4% and the PEG stands at 99.00. Either the market prices in a turnaround that has not shown up yet, or this is momentum without substance. Zydus Lifesciences Limited (zyduslife) Announces USFDA Acceptance of Fyb206 Biosimilar
Zydus Lifesciences Limited (ZYDUSLIFE) announces USFDA acceptance of FYB206, a biosimilar to Keytruda®.
Zydus Lifesciences Limited (ZYDUSLIFE) has announced that the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has accepted for review the Biologics License Application (BLA) for FYB206, a proposed biosimilar to Keytruda®. This marks the first publicly announced acceptance by the USFDA of an application for a Keytruda® biosimilar. The BLA was submitted in the third quarter of 2026.
Significant Milestone
The acceptance of the application is a significant step toward expanding access to affordable pembrolizumab therapy in the U.S. and Canada. The regulatory dossier for FYB206 has also been submitted to Health Canada. This development is expected to improve patient access and outcomes in oncology treatment.
Development Pathway
FYB206 was developed without a comparative Phase III efficacy trial, following a development pathway agreed upon with the USFDA in early 2025. Zydus holds exclusive commercialization rights for the United States and Canada and brings extensive commercial experience in the North American market for this product.
Future Outlook
Under the Biosimilar User Fee Amendments (BsUFA), the USFDA aims to complete its review within twelve months of submission. A decision could be expected in the third quarter of 2027. With this milestone, Zydus and Formycon aim to make this important cancer therapy accessible to more patients.

Zydus Lifesciences Limited belongs to the Healthcare › Drug Manufacturers – Specialty & Generic sector. Here’s a quick read on where the business and the stock stand today.
Zydus holds in the upper half of its 52-week range, a sign the market backs the stock. The PEG of 0.68 signals undervaluation relative to growth. It is a potential re-rating candidate. The business compounds revenue at 16.5% and profits at 37.0% CAGR. That is strong double-digit growth on both counts. The stock trades at 75% of its 52-week range — near its best levels of the year. Clearly, the market pays a premium for this name. Revenue grows at 16.5% and profits at 37.0%. The business is in good shape. Fundamental & Technical Analysis of Max India Limited
Max India Limited belongs to the Healthcare › Medical Care Facilities sector. Here’s a quick read on where the business and the stock stand today.
Max moves sideways over three months, with neither buyers nor sellers taking control. Industry-leading margins of 55.4% reflect exceptional pricing power and operational efficiency. 5 loss quarters over five years is a serious red flag — earnings quality is poor and recovery is not guaranteed. The stock gains 6.6% in the last month, recovering from the three-month slide. However, it is too early to call this a confirmed reversal. Price climbs recently despite -1.8% revenue growth and a PEG of 99.00. Consequently, either institutions position ahead of improvement or the move fades when earnings disappoint. Treat this as a trading signal, not an investment thesis. Check Fundamentals of Max India Limited.

Zydus Lifesciences Limited (zyduslife) Shares New Post Hoc Analysis of Phase 3 Epics-iii Trial Showing Greater Biochemical Response with Investigational Saroglitazar
Zydus Lifesciences Limited (ZYDUSLIFE) unveils new post hoc analysis from Phase 3 EPICS-III trial, showing greater biochemical response with saroglitazar.
Zydus Lifesciences Limited (NSE: ZYDUSLIFE) has unveiled new post hoc analysis from the pivotal Phase 3 EPICS-III trial of saroglitazar, showing greater biochemical response compared to placebo across geographic subgroups in patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). The findings were presented at the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) 2026 Annual Meeting.
Greater Biochemical Response in U.S. Subgroup
Numerically higher biochemical response treatment difference was observed in the U.S. subgroup relative to the non-U.S. subgroup (∆ 60.7% vs. ∆ 41.6%) in patients with PBC. These results build on the clinical profile of saroglitazar in patients with PBC who have inadequate response or intolerance to ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA).
EPIC-III Trial Overview
The EPICS-III trial is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, seamless Phase 2(b)/3 trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of saroglitazar in patients with PBC who had an inadequate response to or intolerance of UDCA. The trial included nearly thirty percent of patients from the U.S. and composite biochemical response rates were greater with saroglitazar than placebo in both U.S. (60.7% vs. 0%) and non-U.S. subgroup regions (55.1% vs. 13.5%). Saroglitazar was generally well tolerated, with adverse events generally balanced between saroglitazar-treated and placebo-treated patients.
As a result, Zydus Therapeutics plans to launch saroglitazar in the United States by March 2027 if approved by the FDA. These findings provide additional insight into the Phase 3 EPICS-III results and the biochemical responses observed among patients enrolled in different geographic regions.
