Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) breaks out with a +5% gain, clearing its 6M resistance trendline and closing at ₹502.95 on the NSE. This move follows the stock’s breakout above the ₹471 resistance level, a 6.4% clear, and aligns with its position at the 50-DMA (₹474.9). Resistance was previously at ₹470.69, which the stock has successfully broken, indicating a potential shift in momentum. The 50-DMA at ₹474.9 is slightly below the 200-DMA at ₹495.5, suggesting a mixed position but with recent bullish sentiment. The stock is currently in the middle third of its 52-week range, indicating that while there is room for further upside, a significant portion of the move may already be priced in.
Snapshot: ₹502.95 on 2026-07-27 (chart frozen at publication)
Fundamentals & business context
With a PE of 29.2, profit margins of 13.7%, and a revenue CAGR of 6.8%, CONCOR’s valuation appears stretched relative to its current earnings, especially given the slow profit CAGR of 1.9%. The 41.7% institutional ownership suggests that despite these metrics, smart money sees value in the company, possibly due to its strong financial health (D/E of 0.07) and consistent revenue growth. There was no specific NSE catalyst today, indicating that the move is likely driven by technical factors and market sentiment.
Algorithmic scorecard
The overall score reflects a technically strong but fundamentally weaker position. The strongest signals include the breakout above resistance levels with momentum and the bullish sentiment over the last 30 days, where up days saw 2.21x the volume of down days. These indicators suggest systematic accumulation and positive market sentiment. On the weaker side, the stock’s overvalued status relative to its growth rate and its position in the lower half of the 52-week range highlight potential risks. These factors could limit upside potential and expose the stock to market corrections.
Company outlook
Management maintained its guidance for 13% growth, with 10% from EXIM and 20% from domestic operations. They project a top line of Rs. 15,000 crores and 10 million TEUs handling throughput by FY 2029. To support this growth, CAPEX is being enhanced by 23% to Rs. 1,060 crores, with new terminals planned at Mandalgarh, Jajpur, Kadakola, and near Sanand. These initiatives aim to bolster the company’s infrastructure and capacity, driving future growth.

Container Corporation of India Limited (NSE: CONCOR) breaks out, gains 5% intraday
Container Corporation of India Limited (NSE: CONCOR) stock price gains 5% intraday, breaking out above its 6-month resistance trendline at ₹488.3.
Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) breaks out, gaining +5% to clear its 6M resistance trendline. This move follows the stock surpassing the ₹471 resistance level by 3.6%, indicating strong upward momentum. As a major player in the industrials sector, specifically railroads, CONCOR’s performance often reflects broader sector trends. Today’s breakout suggests a company-specific catalyst rather than sector-wide momentum, possibly driven by internal operational improvements or strategic initiatives.
Technical setup — trendlines & DMA
The current 6M trendline structure shows CONCOR trading above both its support and resistance levels. The 6M support trendline stands at ₹478.12, with the stock currently 2.08% above it, while the resistance trendline at ₹470.69 has been decisively broken by 3.61%. The 50-DMA at ₹481.5 is below the 200-DMA at ₹497.6, indicating a bearish trend, but the stock’s recent breakout suggests a potential shift in momentum. CONCOR is currently in the lower third of its 52W range, trading 33% above the 52W low and 21.9% below the 52W high, implying there is room for further upside if this breakout sustains.
Snapshot: ₹488.30 on 2026-07-14 (chart frozen at publication)
Fundamentals & business context
With a PE of 28.3, CONCOR’s valuation appears stretched given its profit margin of 13.7% and a revenue CAGR of 6.8%. This suggests that the market may be pricing in future growth expectations that are not yet reflected in current earnings. The 41.0% institutional ownership indicates a level of confidence from smart money, though the PEG ratio of 14.89 suggests the stock is overvalued relative to its growth rate. The consistent revenue growth and low debt levels (D/E of 0.07) highlight the company’s financial stability, but the current valuation metrics raise questions about how much of this growth is already priced in.
Algorithmic scorecard
The overall algorithmic scorecard reflects a balanced view of CONCOR, with strengths and weaknesses across fundamental and technical metrics. On the positive side, the company’s very low debt and consistent revenue growth underscore its financial health and stability. The breakout above resistance levels with momentum also signals a bullish technical sentiment. However, the overvalued PEG ratio and bearish trend indicated by the DMAs highlight potential risks. The stock’s position in the lower half of its 52W range suggests that while there is room for growth, the recent breakout needs to be watched closely to confirm a sustained upward trend.
Company outlook
In its recent Q3FY26 update, CONCOR management highlighted several key strengths and initiatives driving the company forward. The guidance for 13% growth, with a focus on 10% EXIM and 20% domestic growth, remains unchanged, indicating confidence in the company’s strategic direction. The planned enhancement of the CAPEX budget by 23% to Rs. 1,060 crores and the commissioning of new terminals at Mandalgarh, Jajpur, Kadakola, and near Sanand are expected to bolster operational capabilities and growth potential. These initiatives reflect CONCOR’s commitment to expanding its infrastructure and market reach, which could contribute to the recent positive stock movement.
Management’s forward guidance for CONCOR is optimistic, with a projected top line of Rs. 15,000 crores and a handling throughput of 10 million TEUs by FY 2029. This ambitious target underscores the company’s growth aspirations and strategic focus on both EXIM and domestic segments. The growth drivers include the enhanced CAPEX budget and the new terminal projects, which are expected to significantly boost operational efficiency and capacity. These initiatives, coupled with the consistent revenue growth and low debt levels, position CONCOR for potential long-term value creation, though the current valuation metrics suggest that much of this growth may already be priced in.

Fundamental & Technical Analysis of Container Corporation of India Limited
Container Corporation of India Limited belongs to the Industrials › Railroads sector. Here’s a quick read on where the business and the stock stand today.
Container trades in the lower quarter of its 52-week range. The PEG stands at 14.74 — severely stretched. Any earnings miss could trigger a sharp de-rating. Revenue consistency is the one bright spot — zero dips in five years shows operational resilience. The stock gains 0.9% in the last month, recovering from the three-month slide. However, it is too early to call this a confirmed reversal. Revenue grows at 6.8% CAGR — a respectable pace. However, the stock drops 5.5% in three months without an obvious fundamental trigger. Sector-wide pressure or a valuation re-rating can persist for longer than expected. Therefore, there is no rush to step in. Check Fundamentals of Container Corporation of India Limited.
