Wockhardt Limited Wockpharma FDA Approval Q2 FY26

Wockhardt Limited (WOCKPHARMA) announced on May 30, 2026, that it has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for ZAYNICH™ (cefepime and zidebactam), a novel intravenous antibiotic for treating adults with complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI), including pyelonephritis. This approval marks a significant milestone for Wockhardt, as ZAYNICH™ is the first New Chemical Entity fully developed and commercialized by an Indian pharmaceutical company to receive FDA approval.

Clinical Trial Results

The FDA approval was based on the results from ENHANCE-1, a Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, multicenter study. ZAYNICH™ demonstrated higher combined clinical cure and microbiologic response (composite endpoint) at the test of cure (TOC) visit versus meropenem, 89.0% vs 68.4% respectively. The antibiotic was generally well tolerated in the study, which enrolled 530 patients from the U.S., Europe, LATAM, China, and India, and spanned across 64 sites.

Significance of the Approval

The approval addresses a critical unmet need for new antibiotics to combat multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria. Multidrug-resistant bacterial infections are a substantial burden for patients and the healthcare system, as they typically require longer, more intensive care and are at increased risk of life-threatening complications. The approval of ZAYNICH™ provides a new option for treating these infections, offering hope to patients and healthcare providers.

Wockhardt gains 49.2% over three months and trades near its 52-week highs. Thin margins at 6.3% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. No meaningful dividend — total return is entirely dependent on capital appreciation. RSI hits 82, a level that signals the stock runs hot. Notably, buyers drove volume on 17 recent sessions — though at these levels, some profit-taking is normal. The stock rises 49.2% in three months. Yet revenue grows at only 8.4% and the PEG stands at 99.00. Either the market prices in a turnaround that has not shown up yet, or this is momentum without substance. Orchid falls 12.5% over three months and has not found a floor yet. Razor-thin margins below 5% make profitability extremely vulnerable — this business needs scale or pricing power urgently. No meaningful dividend — total return is entirely dependent on capital appreciation. The stock holds at 65% of its 52-week range with RSI at 36. In other words, neither side has a clear edge right now. The stock rises -12.5% in three months on 22.3% revenue growth. As a result, the market gives it more credit than the fundamentals strictly justify. Watch the next quarterly results. If growth accelerates, the move makes sense. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (NSE: SUNPHARMA) announced today that it will present updated long-term efficacy and safety results from the locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (laCSCC) and metastatic CSCC (mCSCC) expansion cohorts from the pivotal CK-301-101 trial of UNLOXCYT® (cosibelimab-ipdl) at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress on October 24, 2026 in Madrid, Spain.

Key Findings from ESMO 2026 Presentation

The ESMO abstract expands the pivotal analysis to 205 patients across three advanced CSCC cohorts using centrally-reviewed data. Notably, 34% of patients with locally advanced disease achieved a complete response (CR), while 17%-21% of metastatic patients achieved a CR. The tolerability profile remained consistent with earlier analyses, with a low level of high-grade immune-related adverse events (irAEs).

Clinical Implications

These results underscore the potential for cosibelimab to deliver clinically meaningful and durable benefit for patients with advanced CSCC. The consistent benefit-risk profile over time, with maintained response rates and increasing proportion of complete responses, highlights the promising efficacy of UNLOXCYT® in treating advanced skin cancers.

Ahmad Naim, MD, Senior Vice President, North American Chief Medical Officer, Sun Pharma, emphasized, ‘These findings of improvements in clinical response and consistent safety profile of low irAEs over time support the unmet need for patients with advanced CSCC. And reflects Sun Pharma’s continued commitment to advancing care and providing innovative treatment options that address the needs of patients with difficult-to-treat skin cancers.’
