Hester Biosciences Limited Hesterbio Q1 FY27 Results

Hester Biosciences Limited (HESTERBIO) announced its unaudited financial results for Q1 FY27, showcasing a robust performance across its divisions. The standalone revenue increased by 14% to INR 634.90 million, while the profit surged by 88% to INR 78.38 million. In contrast, consolidated revenue declined by 8% to INR 841.05 million, but the profit soared by 459% to INR 172.96 million. This exceptional gain was primarily due to an amendment of the Gates Foundation loan at Hester Africa, resulting in an accounting gain of INR 853.49 million.

Standalone Financial Highlights

The Poultry Healthcare Division delivered strong growth, with revenues increasing by 48% to INR 941.65 million. This growth was driven by higher institutional business, deeper market penetration, and continued strengthening of customer engagement across key markets. The Animal Healthcare Division, however, saw a revenue decrease of 50% to INR 218.22 million, primarily due to delays in tender execution related to government-led immunisation programmes.

Consolidated Financial Highlights

Consolidated gross profit margins improved to 78% from 69%, supported by a favourable product mix and operational efficiencies. EBITDA and PAT increased by 95% and 88% respectively, reflecting stronger operating performance and disciplined execution across the business.

Hester Biosciences Limited remains committed to its long-term strategy of Building with Intent. Growing with Science. During FY27, the company will focus on strengthening its biologicals portfolio, expanding market penetration, advancing research and development, improving manufacturing efficiency, and strengthening operational excellence.

The company’s EBITDA margin remained stable at 16.7%, despite wage hikes, while the profit after tax (PAT) grew by 10% YoY to ₹1,123 million. Growth and Future Outlook

Manish Gupta, Chairman and CEO of Indegene, highlighted the company’s broad-based growth driven by expansion across top accounts and significant deal wins in GenAI-enabled transformation and upstream engagements. The company anticipates EBITDA to grow faster than revenue in the coming quarters, supported by higher yields on investments and lower amortization.

Alivus gains 15.6% over three months and trades near its 52-week highs. The PEG stands at 4.11 — severely stretched. Any earnings miss could trigger a sharp de-rating. Margins at 23.3% are impressive but need to be sustained — any compression would be a red flag. The stock gives back 4.5% in the last month despite a positive three-month run. As a result, the earlier momentum appears to be fading. The stock rises 15.6% in three months on 6.9% revenue growth. Sanofi falls 13.8% over three months and has not found a floor yet. D/E of 0.00 and a 4.16% dividend yield give the balance sheet a decent cushion. The 4.16% dividend yield is about the only thing keeping income investors interested right now. The stock sits at 2% of its 52-week range, close to annual lows. Historically, value investors build positions at these levels — though cheap stocks can stay cheap. Revenue grows at -12.6% and the stock moves sideways over three months. Neither side makes a strong case. The next earnings print will likely break this stock out of its current range. Check Fundamentals of Sanofi India Limited.
