Landmark Cars Limited (NSE: LANDMARK), a leading premium automotive retail network in India, has signed letters of intent with JSW Motors Limited to establish new JSW cars dealerships in Ahmedabad and Bhopal. This dealership will be established in one of the wholly owned subsidiaries of Landmark Cars. JSW Motors is entering India’s passenger vehicle market as an independent automotive brand, distinct from JSW MG Motor India. The company plans to open five new outlets across these cities, aiming to expand OEM partnerships and deepen its presence in existing markets.

Strategic Expansion

The expansion includes two showrooms and one workshop in South Ahmedabad, and one showroom and one workshop in Bhopal. This move is part of Landmark Cars’ strategy to enhance network productivity and competitive positioning. JSW Motors is setting up a new manufacturing plant at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) for new energy vehicles, with sales expected from the next financial quarter.

Future Prospects

Landmark Cars Limited, with its presence across the automotive retail value chain, including sales of new vehicles, after-sales service and repairs, and sales of pre-owned passenger vehicles, aims to leverage this partnership to further its growth. The company remains committed to its forward-looking goals, despite the inherent risks and uncertainties in the automotive sector.

Ather posts a 14.7% three-month gain, but softens in the last few weeks. Thin margins at 9.2% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. 5 loss quarters over five years is a serious red flag — earnings quality is poor and recovery is not guaranteed. The stock gives back 6.2% in the last month despite a positive three-month run. As a result, the earlier momentum appears to be fading.
