Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) breaks out, gains 11% intraday
Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) stock cleared its 6M resistance trendline, gaining 11% intraday to ₹454.65.
Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) breaks out with an 11% gain to ₹454.65, clearing its 6M resistance trendline. This surge is backed by the recent NSE filing where MIDHANI secured S400 approval from GEAerospace, a testament to its technical excellence and global standards in metallic material testing. In the steel sector, MIDHANI’s move appears company-specific, driven by this significant approval rather than broader sector momentum.
Technical setup — trendlines & DMA
Currently, MIDHANI’s stock is trading well above its 6M support trendline at ₹379.48, indicating a strong upward move. The resistance trendline at ₹398.65 has been decisively broken, with the stock now 12.32% above this level. The 50-DMA at ₹419.9 is above the 200-DMA at ₹367.5, signaling a bullish trend. However, the stock is slightly below the 50-DMA, suggesting it is in a recovery phase. Within the 52W range of ₹266.6 to ₹454.8, the stock is in the upper third, indicating that a significant portion of the move is already priced in.
Snapshot: ₹454.65 on 2026-08-13 (chart frozen at publication)
Fundamentals & business context
With a PE of 58.2, MIDHANI’s valuation appears stretched given its current profit margin of 10.9% and a revenue CAGR of 11.6%. This suggests that the market may be pricing in expectations of a turnaround or future growth, despite the company’s declining profit CAGR of -5.6% over the past five years. Institutional ownership stands at 7.6%, indicating a cautious approach by smart money, possibly due to the company’s mixed fundamental performance. Today’s move is clearly driven by the NSE catalyst of securing S400 approval from GEAerospace.
Algorithmic scorecard
MIDHANI’s overall algorithmic scorecard reflects a technically strong but fundamentally weaker profile. The strongest signals include the breakout above resistance levels with momentum, indicating a bullish trend, and the consistent revenue growth every year, showcasing exceptional business stability. On the weaker side, the declining profit CAGR of -5.6% and the negligible dividend yield of 0.37% represent risks. The former suggests challenges in maintaining profitability, while the latter indicates limited income generation for investors.
Company outlook
MIDHANI’s management has outlined an optimistic forward guidance for the coming year. They expect a 15% increase in top line year-on-year, with a corresponding 20% increase in bottom line. EBITDA margins are projected to be around 24% to 25%. The company anticipates a 10% to 15% reduction in opening inventories and good orders for ABHED bulletproof jackets. Additionally, they expect an order book of INR20 crores to INR30 crores per year from the fastener plant. In terms of strategic plans, MIDHANI is planning a capex of around INR1,000 crores in the coming three years and expects to book about INR1,500 crores worth of orders in FY ’26-’27.

Fundamental & Technical Analysis of Bharat Coking Coal Limited
Bharat Coking Coal Limited belongs to the Basic Materials › Coking Coal sector. Here’s a quick read on where the business and the stock stand today.
Bharat drops 20.9% over three months and trades near its 52-week lows. Razor-thin margins below 5% make profitability extremely vulnerable — this business needs scale or pricing power urgently. 2 loss quarter(s) over five years signals earnings fragility — not chronic but worth noting. The stock sits at 15% of its 52-week range, close to annual lows. Historically, value investors build positions at these levels — though cheap stocks can stay cheap. Revenue grows at 3.4% CAGR and the PEG stands at 99.00. The growth does not match the price the market asks. Furthermore, flat price action adds no technical catalyst. A lower price or faster revenue growth would improve the odds. Check Fundamentals of Bharat Coking Coal Limited.
