Supreme Petrochem Limited SPLPETRO gains 6% intraday

Supreme Petrochem Limited (SPLPETRO) edged up from its support zone, gaining +6% to close at ₹737.9 on the NSE on 20 Jul 2026. The move today is technical, with the stock approaching support after a shift in trendline status. Supreme Petrochem operates in the specialty chemicals segment of the basic materials sector, focusing on petrochemical products. Today’s move appears to be company-specific rather than a sector-wide trend, as it edges up while the broader sector may not show similar momentum.

Technical setup — trendlines & DMA

From a technical perspective, Supreme Petrochem’s 6-month support trendline is situated at ₹735.23, with the current price hovering just above this level, indicating a close approach to support. Resistance is noted at ₹764, approximately 3.5% above the current price. The 50-day moving average (DMA) is above the 200-DMA, signaling a bullish trend, though the stock is currently trading above the 200-DMA but below the 50-DMA, suggesting a recovery phase. In terms of its 52-week range, the stock is positioned in the middle third, which implies that a significant portion of potential upside or downside remains unpriced, offering room for further movement in either direction.

Fundamentals & business context

Analyzing the fundamental aspects, Supreme Petrochem’s PE ratio of 39.6, coupled with a profit margin of 6.1% and a revenue CAGR of 0.7% over the past five years, suggests that the market may be pricing in expectations of a turnaround or future growth that the current business performance does not fully support. The company’s institutional ownership stands at 6.8%, indicating a cautious approach by institutional investors towards this name. With no specific NSE catalyst today, the move appears driven by technical factors rather than fundamental news.

Algorithmic scorecard

The algorithmic scorecard reflects a technically strong but fundamentally weak profile for Supreme Petrochem. Two of the strongest signals are the bullish trend indicated by the 50-DMA being above the 200-DMA and the bullish sentiment observed in the last 30 days, where the average volume on up days is 2.52 times higher than on down days, suggesting systematic accumulation. On the flip side, the two weakest signals are the declining profit CAGR of -12.9% over the past five years and the low profit margin of 6.1%, which leave the company vulnerable to economic downturns and rising costs. These factors highlight the need for cautious optimism, balancing the technical strength with an awareness of the underlying business challenges.

Venus Pipes & Tubes Limited (VENUSPIPES) has initiated pipe spooling operations ahead of schedule, marking a significant milestone in its expansion strategy. The early commencement of these operations in Dhaneti, Gujarat, is set to bolster the company’s value-added piping solutions portfolio. By starting production ahead of the originally planned timeline of December 2026, the company aims to establish manufacturing readiness in advance of anticipated customer orders, enabling faster execution and dispatch once orders are received.

Strategic Milestone

The proactive step to commence pipe spooling operations ahead of schedule underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its participation in the growing data centre infrastructure segment. The company has already received a Letter of Intent (LOI) worth Rs. 185 crore from a data centre customer for pipe spooling solutions, with the conversion into firm orders expected to begin in the coming days.

Future Plans

The early operationalization of the dedicated pipe spooling manufacturing capacity is planned to be completed in a phased manner over the next few months. Venus posts a 11.7% three-month gain, but softens in the last few weeks. Thin margins at 8.6% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. Revenue grows at 26.8% and profits at 32.1% CAGR. Both numbers are exceptional. The stock gives back 1.5% in the last month despite a positive three-month run. As a result, the earlier momentum appears to be fading. Both the business and the stock move in the right direction. Revenue grows at 26.8%, profits at 32.1%, and the PEG sits at 1.18 — below its growth rate. That combination is rare. Check Fundamentals of Venus Pipes & Tubes Limited.

Rossari falls 14.4% over three months and has not found a floor yet. Thin margins at 5.9% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. Not a single revenue dip or loss quarter in five years — this is a business built to last through cycles. The stock gains 3.9% in the last month, recovering from the three-month slide. However, it is too early to call this a confirmed reversal. Revenue grows at 13.1% and profits at 11.6% CAGR, with D/E of 0.18. Meanwhile, the stock dips 14.4% in three months without any fundamental deterioration. Consequently, the stock quietly becomes cheaper relative to earnings power.
