Tata Chemicals Limited (tatachem) Q1fy27: Revenue Up 14%, Ebitda Down Due to US Exports Pressure
Tata Chemicals Limited (TATACHEM) reports Q1FY27 results with revenue up 14% at ₹4,255 Cr, EBITDA at ₹555 Cr, impacted by US export pressures.
Tata Chemicals Limited (TATACHEM) today declared its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Amid a challenging external environment, the company delivered a resilient performance, supported by higher sales and production volumes, strong operating efficiencies, and disciplined cost management. However, exports from the USA to Southeast Asia remained under pressure due to persistent unremunerative soda ash pricing.
Revenue and Profit Analysis
Standalone highlights for Q1FY27 show revenue from operations at ₹1,281 Cr, up by 10% compared to Q1FY26, driven by higher volumes and realizations. EBITDA reached ₹364 Cr, up by 35% compared to Q1FY26, due to higher volumes and realizations partially offset by increased costs. Profit After Tax from continuing operations stood at ₹343 Cr, up by 12% compared to Q1FY26.
Consolidated Performance
Consolidated revenue from operations for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, was ₹4,255 Cr, up by 14% compared to Q1FY26, driven by higher volumes offsetting lower realizations. EBITDA stood at ₹555 Cr compared to ₹649 Cr in Q1FY26, mainly due to lower realizations in overseas subsidiaries, especially US exports to Southeast Asia markets. Profit After Tax was ₹60 Cr compared to ₹316 Cr for Q1FY26 primarily due to lower realizations, reduced other income, and lower JV income.
The company’s net debt (without leases) as on June 30, 2026, stood at ₹5,692 Cr, lower than the previous quarter on account of the monetization of assets. The financial results of the Company are aligned with the LIFE (Living, Industrial, Farm Essentials) strategy, reshaping the portfolio towards sustainability-led, application-focused businesses while maintaining strength in core capabilities.
The demand outlook for Living Essentials remains positive, supported by premiumization in food, feed, pharma, and beverage. Core products such as salt and bicarbonates should deliver stable growth, while prebiotics are expected to grow faster due to rising health and wellness consumption trends. Industrial Essentials (mainly Soda Ash) face a challenging near-term outlook due to global oversupply, weak demand conditions, and excess industry capacity. Farm Essentials (mainly Rallis) have a moderately positive outlook supported by improved irrigation, technology adoption, government initiatives, and resilient rural demand.
As a result, Tata Chemicals Limited is transitioning the portfolio to non-cyclical segments, with focused capital allocation to build a structurally resilient growth platform with stable earnings.

Fundamental & Technical Analysis of Tata Chemicals Limited
Tata Chemicals Limited belongs to the Basic Materials › Chemicals sector. Here’s a quick read on where the business and the stock stand today.
Tata falls 12.9% over three months and has not found a floor yet. Margins at 13.0% are middling — adequate but leaving the business with little buffer against cost shocks. 4 loss quarters over five years is a serious red flag — earnings quality is poor and recovery is not guaranteed. The stock holds at 27% of its 52-week range with RSI at 46. In other words, neither side has a clear edge right now. Revenue grows at -4.8% CAGR and the PEG stands at 99.00. The growth does not match the price the market asks. Furthermore, flat price action adds no technical catalyst. A lower price or faster revenue growth would improve the odds. Ambuja Cements Limited (ambujacem) Announces ~30 MTPA Expansion Plan
Ambuja Cements Limited (AMBUJACEM) announces a ~30 MTPA expansion plan with a total growth capex program of Rs. 14,500 Cr.
Ambuja Cements Limited, part of the Adani Portfolio and one of India’s leading building materials solutions providers, has firmed up its next phase of expansion, with new greenfield and brownfield projects planned to add ~30 MTPA of cement capacity across key markets. The programme will expand its manufacturing network across the high growth markets in East, West and North, building on its current 113.5 MTPA pan-India cement capacity across 24 integrated plants and 24 grinding units.
Expansion Details
The expansion includes new grinding capacities of ~15.5 MTPA in West Cluster, 11.6 MTPA in East Cluster and 2.9 MTPA in North Cluster. The new capacities will be located in Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. The programme also includes new clinker capacity in East cluster at Umrangso (4 MTPA) in Assam, West cluster at Maratha (4 MTPA) and Mundra (2.3 MTPA), strengthening the upstream network required to support the expanded grinding footprint.
Future Outlook
Mr. Vinod Bahety, CEO – Cement Business, Adani Group, said, “Our next phase of expansion is focused on quality of growth and creating a more balanced manufacturing network. By strengthening the link between clinker and grinding capacity and expanding closer to the high growth potential key markets, we are building greater flexibility into the network. As we scale, our focus is on combining market reach with logistics and cost efficiencies so that every capacity addition strengthens the competitiveness of the overall business.”
The new programme builds on capacity expansion already under execution. During H1 FY27, the Company added 4.6 MTPA through the 1.2 MTPA brownfield expansion at Dahej in Gujarat, the new 2.4 MTPA Salai Banwa Grinding Unit in Uttar Pradesh and a 1.0 MTPA brownfield expansion at Kalamboli in Maharashtra, taking overall cement capacity to 113.5 MTPA. The near-term pipeline will further strengthen this base, with another 3.2 MTPA across Bathinda GU (1.2 MTPA) in Punjab (North cluster), Jodhpur Penna IU (2 MTPA) in Rajasthan, stabilised and expected to ramp up in H2 FY’27. In addition, the Warisaliganj GU (2.4 MTPA) in Bihar (East Cluster) will be commissioned in H2 FY’27. The Company’s total capacity is expected to reach 119 MTPA by end of March 2027.

EBITDA Steady at ₹564 Crore

Energy Remains Key Earnings Contributor
Energy continued to be the key earnings contributor, accounting for more than 75% of EBITDA in H1. The pellet plant achieved a record-high half-yearly production at 4,29,059 MT. The mining portfolio expanded with the foray into manganese ore mining; Sarda Metals and Alloys Limited bagged the Avagudem Manganese Block in Andhra Pradesh.
Commenting on the results, Mr. Pankaj Sarda, Managing Director, said: “Despite the planned operational shutdowns at some of our facilities, we delivered a resilient performance during H1 FY27 achieving our highest-ever half-yearly EBITDA. This reflects the inherent strength of our underlying businesses, the stability of our earnings profile, and the benefits of our integrated operating model. Our entry into manganese ore mining marks an important strategic milestone, with the successful bid for the Avagudem block in Andhra Pradesh. This strategic move will strengthen backward integration, enhance raw material security, and improve cost competitiveness, supporting higher profitability in our ferro alloys business. Our expansion plans across energy and mining remain on track, supported by a strong balance sheet and disciplined capital allocation. Going forward, we remain focused on timely execution, improving asset utilization, and unlocking greater operational synergies across our integrated businesses to drive sustainable long-term growth and value creation.”

Birla Corporation Limited (birlacorpn) September Quarter Revenue Up 9%
Birla Corporation Limited’s September quarter revenue up 9% to Rs 2,441 crore, cement sales grow 7% despite weak prices.
Birla Corporation Limited (BIRLACORPN) reported a 9% rise in consolidated revenue for the September quarter, reaching Rs 2,441 crore, up from Rs 2,233 crore in the same period last year. The focus keyword ‘Birla Corporation Limited BIRLACORPN September quarter results’ highlights the key metric of revenue growth. Despite weak cement prices and disruption in construction activities due to excessive rainfall, the company’s cement sales by volume grew 7% year-on-year to 4.54 million tons.
Cement Division Performance
The Cement Division faced challenges with a 3% decline in realization in the east and flat realization in central India. However, modest improvements were seen in the west and north. Capacity utilization remained at 85%, but profitability was impaired due to a significant increase in input costs. Clinker cost rose 13% and power and fuel cost rose 15% year-on-year.
Financial Metrics
Birla Corporation’s consolidated EBITDA for the quarter was Rs 254 crore, compared to Rs 332 crore a year ago. Net profit for the quarter was Rs 37 crore against Rs 90 crore a year earlier. The EBITDA margin fell 490 basis points to 9.8%. The company’s sales strategy includes expanding sales of blended cement and premium products, which grew 4% and 17% respectively during the quarter.
Overall, despite cost pressures, Birla Corporation Limited’s strategic initiatives and high capacity utilization are expected to drive future growth. However, persistent cost challenges may continue to impact overall profitability.
