Eicher Motors Limited (eichermot) Unveils Himalayan 440: Community Demand Drives Return of OG Himalayan
Eicher Motors Limited (EICHERMOT) announces the launch of the new Himalayan 440, a decade-long community demand fulfilled with an upgraded frame and a powerf.
Eicher Motors Limited (NSE: EICHERMOT) has announced the launch of the new Himalayan 440, marking a decade since the original Himalayan’s introduction. The new model, driven by community demand, features an upgraded 443cc long-stroke engine paired with a six-speed gearbox, promising improved performance and touring comfort. Priced at ₹ 2,29,000 (ex-showroom), bookings will open on September 4, 2026, across authorized Royal Enfield dealerships and on royalenfield.com.
Enhanced Performance and Durability
The Himalayan 440 retains the iconic design and ergonomic rider triangle of the original model, while introducing significant mechanical refinements for increased durability and versatility. The new engine produces 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm at 4,000 rpm, delivering stronger all-round performance with improved NVH (Noise-Vibration-Harshness). The six-speed gearbox with revised ratios makes low-speed riding easier and the additional sixth gear enables more relaxed highway cruising and long-distance touring.
Adventure Ready
Engineered for confidence across varied terrain, the Himalayan 440 features a half-duplex split-cradle frame, 41mm telescopic front forks with 200mm travel, and a linkage-type rear monoshock with 180mm wheel travel. With 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, 220mm ground clearance, and a low center of gravity, it tackles roads and rocks, slush and snow, and everything in between. The motorcycle’s upright riding position and low 800mm seat height make it easy to maneuver and comfortable for long tours.
As a result, the new Himalayan 440 stands as a testament to how far the initial vision has evolved, offering riders a simple, accessible, and uncomplicated adventure tourer. Available in three colors—Sela Black, Mustang Brown, and Nelong White—the motorcycle is poised to resonate with riders around the world, continuing the legacy of adventure and exploration.
