Oil India Limited OIL Q3 FY27 Waste-to-clean-energy Projects

Oil India Limited (OIL) has taken a significant step towards expanding its low-carbon energy portfolio through its subsidiary, Oil India Green Energy Limited (OGEL). On August 30, 2026, OGEL signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with four municipalities in Haryana—Gurugram, Faridabad, Hisar, and Ambala—for the development of Integrated Waste-to-Clean-Energy Projects. The MoUs were signed in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Nayab Singh Saini, along with senior Ministers, Members of Parliament, and officials from the Government of Haryana and OIL/OGEL.

Project Details

The four projects are proposed across Hisar (500 TPD), Ambala (900 TPD), Faridabad (1,600 TPD), and Gurugram (2,000 TPD) clusters. Together, the facilities will have the capacity to scientifically process 5,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day and are expected to produce 70–75 TPD of Compressed Biogas (CBG) along with 50 MW of green power.

Integrated Waste Processing

The projects envisage an integrated waste processing and resource-recovery approach, wherein municipal solid waste will undergo scientific pre-processing and segregation to maximize resource recovery. Recyclable material will be recovered, the wet and biodegradable fraction will be utilized for the production of CBG, while only the non-recyclable dry fraction will be utilized for the generation of electricity through Waste-to-Energy facilities. This integrated approach is aimed at maximizing resource recovery, optimizing energy recovery from non-recyclable waste, and reducing dependence on landfilling, while converting different fractions of municipal waste into valuable clean energy in the form of CBG and green electricity.

The initiative will support Haryana’s efforts towards scientific and sustainable municipal waste management while contributing to the national objectives of Waste-to-Wealth, circular economy, and clean energy transition. The projects are also aligned with the Government of India’s GOBARdhan – National Circular Bioenergy Scheme 2026, which seeks to promote scientific waste management and accelerate the conversion of organic waste into CBG and other forms of clean energy. For OIL, the collaboration marks an important step in advancing integrated waste-to-clean-energy solutions at scale.

Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) has announced a significant strategic move with the signing of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jabil Inc. for a proposed 50:50 joint venture to manufacture and assemble artificial intelligence (AI) and data centre equipment in India.

Strategic Collaboration

The joint venture aims to serve India’s accelerating data centre demand, with industry forecasts projecting a capacity of 5-8 gigawatts (GW) by 2030. The companies estimate the global market opportunity at more than $3 trillion over the next seven years, as investment in AI compute infrastructure continues to surge.

Manufacturing AI Hardware

The joint venture will manufacture and assemble AI racks, servers, storage, and networking equipment used in data centres. The venture is expected to have multi-gigawatt AI rack manufacturing capacity, supporting computing systems with a combined power capacity of several gigawatts. It will also provide installation and commissioning services.

As a result, the joint venture will provide a manufacturing base in India to serve domestic demand and support exports. The collaboration aligns with Adani Group’s commitment to develop 5 GW of green-energy-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centres by 2035. For Jabil, which reported $36 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2026, the venture will expand its engineering and manufacturing footprint in India’s data centre market.

Notably, this move underscores Adani Enterprises’ vision to expand up the AI value chain, evolving from powering and hosting AI infrastructure to engineering and manufacturing the critical systems that will define the next generation of computing.

Gp Petroleums Limited Gulfpetro October Minority Investment

GP Petroleums Limited (GPPL) today announced that its Board has approved a proposed investment of approximately ₹44.27 crore in Incubit Pipavav Terminal Private Limited (IPTPL). This transaction combines a minority equity stake with management control, marking GPPL’s entry into India’s liquid-storage and terminal logistics sector. The investment aims to broaden GPPL’s business beyond lubricants into strategic infrastructure.

Strategic Move into Logistics

IPTPL’s terminal at Pipavav Port, Gujarat, provides a platform to strengthen supply-chain security and develop storage and handling revenues alongside GPPL’s existing operations. The shares will be acquired from existing IPTPL shareholders, potentially in multiple tranches over one year, funded through GPPL’s internal reserves.

Long-Term Growth Opportunities

Mr. Ayush Goel, Chairman & Managing Director of GP Petroleums Limited, said: “We see Pipavav as the first step towards building a broader logistics infrastructure business alongside our core lubricants operations. Securing management control through a minority investment gives us a platform to connect port infrastructure with hinterland demand and participate in India’s growth. Our aim is to develop recurring storage and terminal income that strengthens the resilience of our cash flows over time. We will evaluate expansion and other opportunities with a focus on disciplined investment and long-term value creation.”

Final consideration remains subject to changes in IPTPL’s share valuation. Completion is subject to the fulfilment or waiver, as applicable, of conditions precedent and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
