Laser Power & Infra Limited (laserpower) Secures ₹72.76 Crore HTLS Reconductoring Order from Powergrid
Laser Power & Infra Limited (NSE: LASERPOWER) secures ₹72.76 crore HTLS reconductoring order from POWERGRID, marking a major breakthrough.
Laser Power & Infra Limited (NSE: LASERPOWER) has secured contracts aggregating to ₹72.76 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for the supply of High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors and the reconductoring of two existing 132 kV transmission lines under the North Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-XXIV (NERES- XXIV). This project covers approximately 164 circuit-km of existing transmission corridors and is to be completed within 12 months from the Notification of Award.
First Commercial HTLS Order
This award represents Laser Power’s first commercial order for the supply of HTLS conductors, marking the transition of its HTLS technology from product development and qualification to commercial execution. Through its licensing arrangement with TS Conductor, USA, the company has access to an advanced conductor platform.
Significance of the Order
Commenting on the development, Mr. Deepak Goel, Chairman and Managing Director, Laser Power & Infra Limited, said: “This order is a watershed moment in Laser Power’s journey. It translates nearly 18 months of focused work across product development, testing, qualification and execution readiness into our first commercial HTLS conductor order. More importantly, it gives us an entry into a specialised segment of transmission infrastructure where technology access is only the starting point. Product qualification, utility acceptance and execution capability are equally critical.”
As a result, successful execution of this project will give Laser Power an important milestone which strengthens its ability to participate in future HTLS and reconductoring opportunities. This order is significant beyond its immediate value. Together with recent entry into underground EHV EPC through the CESC project, it reflects Laser Power’s broader strategy of building capabilities across advanced transmission technologies.
This combination of differentiated technology, manufacturing capability and project execution can broaden our addressable opportunity and create new avenues for sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
