Infosys Limited (NSE: INFY) breaks below support, falls 6%
Infosys Limited (NSE: INFY) experiences a breakdown, falling 6% intraday to ₹1054.2, breaking below its support line in the Information Technology Services s.
Infosys Limited (INFY) breaks below support, falling 6% to close at ₹1054.2 on the NSE today. The stock has now dropped below its 6-month support trendline, signaling a breakdown after a period of consolidation. This move is technical, with no new filings or news releases. Infosys, a leading player in the technology sector, specifically within information technology services, has seen its stock performance diverge from broader sector trends, indicating company-specific pressures rather than sector-wide momentum.
Technical setup — trendlines & DMA
Currently, Infosys is trading below its 6-month support trendline, which ends at ₹1114.29, marking a 5.70% drop from this level. Resistance is noted at ₹1206.18, where the stock is 14.42% below. The 50-day moving average (DMA) stands at ₹1191.0, and the 200-DMA is at ₹1412.6, both above the current price, indicating a bearish trend. The stock is also positioned in the lower third of its 52-week range, suggesting that much of the downside may already be priced in, though the distance from the 52-week high indicates significant room for further decline if negative sentiment persists.
Snapshot: ₹1,054.20 on 2026-06-22 (chart frozen at publication)
Fundamentals & business context
With a PE ratio of 13.8 and profit margins at 16.4%, Infosys’s valuation appears to reflect its steady but slow revenue growth of 3.4% CAGR over the past five years. The market seems to be pricing in a degree of stability rather than aggressive growth, given the current earnings and growth rates. Institutional ownership at 52.6% suggests that despite the recent technical downturn, there is still a level of confidence among larger investors in the company’s long-term prospects. There were no new filings or catalysts from the NSE today to explain the move.
Algorithmic scorecard
The overall algorithmic scorecard reflects a balanced view of Infosys, with strengths in dividend yield and debt levels, offset by weaknesses in revenue growth and valuation relative to growth. The strong dividend yield of 4.37% and very low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.09 indicate financial health and a commitment to returning value to shareholders. Conversely, the slow revenue CAGR of 3.4% and an overvalued PEG ratio of 3.83 signal potential risks in terms of growth expectations and valuation. These contrasting signals suggest that while Infosys maintains financial stability and income generation, investors should be cautious about its growth trajectory and current valuation.
Company outlook
For fiscal year 2027, Infosys has guided for revenue growth in the range of 1.5% to 3.5% in constant currency terms, with an operating margin target of 20% to 22%. This guidance includes the Stratus acquisition but excludes the Versent JV and Optimum Healthcare acquisitions. The company is navigating challenges such as lower revenue from a large European manufacturing client and a reduction in onsite mix, which are factored into the guidance. Wage hikes, productivity pass-throughs, and AI investments are expected to impact margins, though this will be offset by cost-saving initiatives like Project Maximus. Infosys remains focused on growing its AI services, securing large deals, and forming AI partnerships to drive performance. The company plans to hire around 20,000 college graduates for FY27 and is exploring outcome-based contracts and AI-driven service models to enhance its offerings and competitiveness.
