Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited HSCL falls 5% intraday

Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited (HSCL) fell -5% to ₹747.05 on the NSE on 28 Jul 2026. The stock hit resistance after a consolidating uptrend, now just -0.6% away from the ₹742 resistance level. This move is technical, with no new NSE filings or concalls in the last two days. HSCL operates in the specialty chemicals segment within the basic materials sector, and today’s pullback appears to be company-specific rather than a sector-wide phenomenon.

Technical setup — trendlines & DMA

Currently, HSCL is trading above both its 6M support trendline, which ends at ₹669.52, and its 6M resistance trendline, which ends at ₹742.23. The stock has broken above the resistance, indicating a breakout. Fundamentals & business context

With a PE of 49.6, HSCL’s valuation appears elevated given its profit margin of 16.1% and a modest revenue CAGR of 3.7% over the past five years. However, the profit CAGR of 51.5% suggests that the market may be pricing in strong future earnings growth. The 6.5% institutional ownership indicates a cautious approach by smart money, possibly reflecting concerns over the company’s revenue growth trajectory and high valuation relative to current earnings. There were no new NSE catalysts today to drive the move.

The overall algorithmic scorecard reflects a technically strong but fundamentally weaker stock. Two of the strongest signals are the breakout above resistance levels with momentum and the stock’s consistent revenue growth every year, indicating exceptional business stability. On the flip side, the slow revenue CAGR of 3.7% and the high public ownership of 51.54% pose risks. The slow revenue growth may limit future upside, while high public ownership could lead to higher volatility.

Vardhman holds in the upper half of its 52-week range, a sign the market backs the stock. Thin margins at 7.9% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. The PEG of 2.97 makes it expensive versus peers. The premium needs earnings to catch up quickly. The stock trades at 76% of its 52-week range — near its best levels of the year. Clearly, the market pays a premium for this name. Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) has taken a significant step towards promoting resource recovery and sustainable manufacturing by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Heavy Water Board (HWB) and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). This collaboration aims to recover nickel and cobalt from plant reverts, leveraging the expertise of all three organizations.

Strategic Partnership

The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation among MIDHANI, HWB, and BARC to explore and implement efficient processes for recovering valuable metals from plant reverts. This initiative seeks to maximize resource utilization, reduce dependence on primary mineral resources, and promote environmentally responsible metal production.

Critical Metals Recovery

Cobalt and nickel are critical metals widely used in advanced battery technologies, electric vehicles, stainless steels, superalloys, and other strategic industrial applications. By recovering these metals from plant reverts, the collaboration aims to strengthen domestic supply chains, improve resource efficiency, and support the growing demand for critical metals.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. S V S Narayana Murty, Chairman & Managing Director, MIDHANI, said, “The signing of this MoU marks an important milestone in our efforts to promote the recovery of critical metals from secondary resources. Through this collaboration, we aim to combine our strengths and develop viable, sustainable, and commercially competitive solutions for the production of cobalt and nickel from plant reverts.”

ACC falls 13.8% over three months and has not found a floor yet. The PEG of 0.24 is extremely low. Either the market misses the growth story, or there is a catch worth investigating. Thin margins at 7.6% leave limited room for error — any demand softness or cost spike hits the bottom line hard. The stock sits at 7% of its 52-week range, close to annual lows. Historically, value investors build positions at these levels — though cheap stocks can stay cheap. Revenue grows at 12.9% and profits at 48.7% CAGR — a genuinely strong business.
