Styrenix Performance Materials Limited (STYRENIX) sees profit-taking after breakout, falls 5%
Styrenix Performance Materials Limited (STYRENIX) is down 5% intraday at ₹2349.7, retracing gains post-breakout.
Styrenix Performance Materials Limited (STYRENIX) fell -5% to ₹2349.7 on the NSE on 06 Aug 2026, backed by its Q1 FY27 results titled “Navigating Disruptions with Strategic Growth.” This decline comes as the stock is approaching resistance at ₹2351, just 0.1% away. Styrenix, a key player in the Basic Materials > Chemicals sector, specializes in high-performance materials. Today’s move appears to be company-specific, as the broader sector shows mixed momentum.
Technical setup — trendlines & DMA
From a technical standpoint, Styrenix is currently trading above its 6M support trendline at ₹2150.78, which is 8.47% below today’s price. The stock has just broken out above its 6M resistance trendline at ₹2351.19, indicating a bullish trend. The 50-DMA at ₹2296.1 is above the 200-DMA at ₹2121.2, suggesting a positive momentum. Currently, the stock is trading in the middle third of its 52W range, which implies that while there is room for further upside, a significant portion of the move might already be priced in.
Snapshot: ₹2,349.70 on 2026-08-06 (chart frozen at publication)
Fundamentals & business context
On the fundamental side, Styrenix’s PE of 23.8, coupled with a profit margin of 5.3% and a revenue CAGR of 13.2%, raises questions about the valuation. The market seems to be pricing in potential future growth, despite the current thin profit margins. Institutional ownership stands at 16.5%, indicating a cautious but present interest from smart money. There is no new NSE catalyst today, so the decline is likely a reaction to the Q1 FY27 results.
Algorithmic scorecard
The overall scorecard reflects a technically strong but fundamentally weak position. The strongest signals come from the technical side, where the stock has broken out above resistance levels with momentum, and the 50-DMA is above the 200-DMA, indicating a bullish trend. However, the fundamental signals are weaker, particularly the low profit margin of 5.3%, which leaves little room for error if costs rise, and the declining profit CAGR of 0%, which suggests stagnant earnings growth. These fundamental weaknesses could pose risks to the stock’s long-term performance.
Company outlook
In the Q4FY26 concall, management highlighted that spreads and margins on the contractor formula side might be similar or slightly better, with better margins on the spot side for specific grades. They also noted that there would be no preponement of capex, and investments and volumes are coming on track as planned. The Thailand plant is seen as a critical asset for global supply, especially to China and the Far East. Plans to incorporate higher margin ABS technologies in India are in the works once additional capacity comes online. Capex and volume commitments remain on track for the second half of the year.
