Craftsman Automation Limited CRAFTSMAN breakout

Craftsman Automation Limited (CRAFTSMAN) breaks out with a +5% gain today, clearing its 6-month resistance trendline. This move follows the company’s announcement of setting up a new plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, and the appointment of Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh as Senior Vice President – Operations. Craftsman Automation, a key player in the auto parts sector, has shown resilience despite sector volatility, indicating that today’s move is driven by company-specific developments rather than broader sector trends.

Technical setup — trendlines & DMA

From a technical standpoint, Craftsman Automation has broken out above its 6-month resistance trendline, which ended at ₹9560.19, now trading 2.15% above this level. The stock is also comfortably above its 6-month support trendline at ₹9381.59, sitting 3.98% higher. The 50-day moving average (DMA) at ₹9116.7 is above the 200-DMA at ₹7776.1, signaling a bullish trend. Currently, the stock is trading in the upper third of its 52-week range, indicating that a significant portion of its potential upside may already be priced in.

Fundamentals & business context

Despite a high PE ratio of 57.8, Craftsman Automation’s revenue CAGR of 36.2% over the past five years suggests robust growth, though the 4.8% profit margin indicates thin profits. The 38.8% institutional ownership reflects confidence from smart money, though the absence of a specific NSE catalyst today suggests the move is more technically driven. The company’s valuation, while stretched, seems to be pricing in future growth rather than current earnings.

Company outlook

Management has outlined an optimistic outlook for FY ’27, expecting revenue growth in the mid-teens and a continuous fall in net debt to EBITDA. Capex plans for FY 2027 will be decided in September, with margin improvement anticipated as the base reaches $1 billion and capex slows down. A key initiative is the greenfield project in Sriperumbudur, set to be commissioned by December, which is expected to drive future growth.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Harsha Kadam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said, “I am pleased to share that Schaeffler India reported a strong performance backed by a strong demand traction from the automotive sector as well as a stronger than expected industrial output in the country. Both intercompany exports and domestic business registered a double-digit growth rate. Earnings quality was marginally impacted by rising input costs and weakening INR, but our mitigation measures helped us manage the impact partially. Backed by our order book and with on-track capex framework, we look forward to delivering value to all our stakeholders.”

Schaeffler falls 11.5% over three months and has not found a floor yet. The PEG stands at 4.87 — severely stretched. Any earnings miss could trigger a sharp de-rating. Revenue consistency is the one bright spot — zero dips in five years shows operational resilience. The stock sits at 16% of its 52-week range, close to annual lows. Historically, value investors build positions at these levels — though cheap stocks can stay cheap. Revenue grows at 12.3% CAGR — a respectable pace. However, the stock drops 11.5% in three months without an obvious fundamental trigger. Sector-wide pressure or a valuation re-rating can persist for longer than expected. Therefore, there is no rush to step in. Check Fundamentals of Schaeffler India Limited.

Lumax posts a 6.8% three-month gain, but softens in the last few weeks. Razor-thin margins below 5% make profitability extremely vulnerable — this business needs scale or pricing power urgently. Revenue grows at 21.4% and profits at 18.7% CAGR. Both numbers are exceptional. The stock gives back 3.9% in the last month despite a positive three-month run. As a result, the earlier momentum appears to be fading. Revenue grows at 21.4% and profits at 18.7%. The business is in good shape.
