Wheels India Limited Wheels Q1 FY27 Net Profit Up Rs. 37 Crore

Wheels India Limited (WHEELS) has reported a significant increase in its net profit for the first quarter of FY27, up Rs. 37 crore compared to Rs. 26 crore in the same period last year. This impressive growth is coupled with a revenue increase of 16.8% to Rs. 1,386 crore, up from Rs. 1,187 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Exports also saw a robust rise of 17.3% to Rs. 380 crore, compared to Rs. 324 crore in the first quarter of FY26.

Strong Domestic and Export Performance

Srivats Ram, CMD of Wheels India, attributed the company’s sales growth to the momentum in the domestic market for cars, trucks, and agriculture tractors, which continued post GST 2.0 reforms. Additionally, the company experienced strong growth in the export of construction equipment wheels. Despite strong inflationary pressures on material costs due to the West Asia crisis, the company managed to maintain its growth trajectory.

Positive Outlook for Q2

Srivats Ram expressed optimism for the future, stating, “We expect the growth momentum to continue in Q2.” With a strong foundation in manufacturing plants across Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Andhra Pradesh, Wheels India remains well-positioned to leverage its market strengths and continue its upward trend.

Clearly, the market pays a premium for this name. The stock rises 10.1% in three months on 6.8% revenue growth. As a result, the market gives it more credit than the fundamentals strictly justify. Schaeffler falls 11.5% over three months and has not found a floor yet. The PEG stands at 4.87 — severely stretched. Any earnings miss could trigger a sharp de-rating. Revenue consistency is the one bright spot — zero dips in five years shows operational resilience. The stock sits at 16% of its 52-week range, close to annual lows. Historically, value investors build positions at these levels — though cheap stocks can stay cheap. Revenue grows at 12.3% CAGR — a respectable pace. However, the stock drops 11.5% in three months without an obvious fundamental trigger. Sector-wide pressure or a valuation re-rating can persist for longer than expected. Therefore, there is no rush to step in. Check Fundamentals of Schaeffler India Limited.
