Jsw Steel Limited (jswsteel) Reports 15% Yoy Growth in Crude Steel Production for May 2026
JSW Steel Limited (JSWSTEEL) announced a 15% YoY growth in crude steel production for May 2026, reaching 22.93 lakh tonnes.
JSW Steel Limited (JSWSTEEL) announced consolidated crude steel production for May 2026, registering a 15% year-over-year growth to 22.93 lakh tonnes. This significant increase was driven by full operations of the Dolvi unit and fully ramped-up JVML operations. Notably, the production figures for Indian operations stood at 21.98 lakh tonnes, up from 19.17 lakh tonnes in May 2025, marking a 15% growth. Meanwhile, JSW Steel USA – Ohio saw a 20% rise, producing 0.95 lakh tonnes compared to 0.79 lakh tonnes in the same period last year.
Production Breakdown
The consolidated production included 21.98 lakh tonnes from Indian operations and 0.95 lakh tonnes from JSW Steel USA – Ohio. The production figures have been adjusted to reflect the transfer of the steel business undertaking of Bhushan Power and Steel Limited (BPSL) to JSW -JFE Steel Limited (JV company) in March 2026.
Operational Insights
The production surge was primarily due to the full operational status of the Dolvi unit and the ramp-up of JVML operations. The Blast Furnace 3 (BF3) at Vijayanagar is undergoing a planned shutdown for capacity upgradation and is expected to restart in the second fortnight of June 2026. Capacity utilization for Indian operations excluding BF3 was approximately 98%, while including BF3, it was at 87%.
As a leading integrated steel company, JSW Steel continues to focus on innovation and sustainability. The company’s commitment to reducing CO2 emissions by 42% from its steel-making operations by 2030 and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 underscores its dedication to environmental stewardship.

Our expansion plans across energy and mining remain on track, supported by a strong balance sheet and disciplined capital allocation. Going forward, we remain focused on timely execution, improving asset utilization, and unlocking greater operational synergies across our integrated businesses to drive sustainable long-term growth and value creation.”

The focus keyword ‘Birla Corporation Limited BIRLACORPN September quarter results’ highlights the key metric of revenue growth. Despite weak cement prices and disruption in construction activities due to excessive rainfall, the company’s cement sales by volume grew 7% year-on-year to 4.54 million tons.
Cement Division Performance
The Cement Division faced challenges with a 3% decline in realization in the east and flat realization in central India. However, modest improvements were seen in the west and north. The company’s sales strategy includes expanding sales of blended cement and premium products, which grew 4% and 17% respectively during the quarter.
Overall, despite cost pressures, Birla Corporation Limited’s strategic initiatives and high capacity utilization are expected to drive future growth. However, persistent cost challenges may continue to impact overall profitability.
