Devyani International Limited Devyani Q1 Fy2027 Results

Devyani International Limited (DIL), one of the leading global Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) operators, has announced its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company reported a 16.5% year-over-year increase in revenues, reaching Rs. 15,805 million. Notably, DIL delivered its highest Profit after Tax (PAT) in 8 quarters, marking a significant milestone.

Revenue and Profit Growth

The consolidated revenues grew by 16.5% compared to the same quarter last year. The company’s operating EBITDA increased by 38% year-over-year, reaching INR 1,511 million, with a margin of 9.6%. The PAT stood at INR 171 million, the highest in 8 quarters. This robust performance underscores DIL’s capability to deliver sustainable profitable growth.

Brand Performance

KFC delivered a strong same-store sales growth (SSSG) of +3.3%, while Costa saw a 10.2% SSSG. BBK & Vaango delivered +7.2% and +7.1% respectively. The overall brand portfolio maintained a positive SSSG trajectory, contributing to the company’s strong financial performance.

However, the operating environment has remained volatile, with usual seasonal complexities. Despite this, the demand has remained stable so far. The forecast of a below-normal season, combined with El Niño risk, indicates that consumption recovery in India rarely moves in a straight line.

As a result, the company remains cautiously optimistic about the future. The merger process with Sapphire Foods continues to progress along expected timelines, with regulatory approvals received from both the NSE and BSE in June. The timelines are broadly on track with the stated target of completion by the end of FY27.

Devyani falls 10.9% over three months and has not found a floor yet. Razor-thin margins below 5% make profitability extremely vulnerable — this business needs scale or pricing power urgently. 4 loss quarters over five years is a serious red flag — earnings quality is poor and recovery is not guaranteed. The stock gains 0.8% in the last month, recovering from the three-month slide. However, it is too early to call this a confirmed reversal. Revenue grows at 23.6% and the stock moves sideways over three months. Neither side makes a strong case. The next earnings print will likely break this stock out of its current range. Looking ahead, we see H2 as a period of accelerated momentum for us. Launch of BAYON marks the onset of our golden product cycle. We are also fully geared up for the launch of dedicated mass market EV in Q4 FY27. While macro-economic uncertainties and cost pressures persist, we remain focused on strengthening our leadership across key segments, delivering sustainable growth and profitability.”
